Python Job: Software Developer

Hawksworth have partnered with a Managed Services Provider to on-board a Python Developer.

You must be an Australian Citizen with minimum baseline clearance. This role is based in Canberra, however you can work remotely within Australia (if you are an Australian Citizen with minimum baseline clearance)

The primary responsibility of the Python Developer is to support projects within the Directorate of Business Intelligence within the Army Headquarters through discrete or bespoke business analysis/Intelligence projects.

Areas of Expertise:
i. Knowledge of data science & analytics concepts and capabilities
j. People management skills including the ability to operate as small multi-disciplinary team, including the ability to re-orientate to new agile based teams for the delivery of specific outcomes
k. High proficiency in Python (Anaconda and JuptyerLab)
l. General knowledge of Microsoft Power Bi
m. High communication skills in order to compile general and technical documentation, including solution architecture documents and relevant wiki’s.

Education, training, and experience in the following areas would be desirable:
a. Data Analytics
b. Data Governance
c. Agile Project Management
d. Data Science

Technical Proficiency. The following solution elements and technical proficiencies are desirable
n. SQL Server
o. Power BI Server (Primary Analytics and Visualisation Tool)
p. Alation
q. Cognos
r. MS Azure
s. IBM Watson Studio

Essential criteria
1.Hold and maintain a Baseline security clearance
2.Demonstrated experience in ICT projects and data operations as above

Desirable criteria
1.Hold a tertiary level qualification in a data related field such as but not limited to Data Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science or Information Technology
2.Can demonstrate experience working within the Department of Defence
